And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, Teacher, this woman. And Jesus said to her, 'Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more (John 8:1-11 NKJV). If caught in the act, where was the man? 'The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death (Leviticus 20:10 NKJV) The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NKJV) Other than the fact that the dude was missing, these folks had a legitimate case. According to the Law, yes, the woman should be stoned John 7:53-8:1-11 NKJV.
